Shafston Hotel – Bistro Refresh + repairs and maintenance

Blackwood Projects has undertaken several projects in the Shafston Hotel building over the last two years including the following:

• Refresh of the Bistro Bar area including bar display, kitchen servery, painting, lighting and upholstery works
• Demolition and strip out of the upper floor function area
• Refurbishment of public amenities including tiling, painting, toilet partitions and general repairs
• Drainage improvement works
• Asbestos removal and remediation
• Investigative works associated with planning for future development

Given the importance of maintaining trading hours and limiting disruption to the operations of the Hotel, all works need to be carefully planned and coordinated in advance with the client to ensure there is no limited disruption to the building operations. Key issues for the client include access in and around the building; security of the building during cash transfer periods; dust and noise; staging works around available timeframes when the Hotel is not trading.
