Description

Blackwood Projects recently completed the conversion of a meeting room located at the heritage listed Sandgate Townhall to a PWD amenities including construction of associated access walkways and reconfiguration of the public courtyard area.  The works also included refurbishment of the public male and female amenities.  The project is located in the busy Sandgate commercial precinct with the BCC Ward office adjacent and public library to the rear and as such careful planning and close supervision of the works was required to ensure the safety of the public moving through the area whilst undertaking construction works.

The external works required careful reconfiguration of the heritage brickwork to accommodate AS1428.1 compliant accessible access to the amenities.  Existing brickwork was hand dismantled and incorporated into the new arrangement.

The project was successfully completed to a high standard of finish.
