Description

Blackwood Projects was engaged by Brisbane City Council to undertake the renovation of the heritage listed Paddington Substation.  The extensive works undertaken included

  • Repair and remediation of the façade, lintels and decorative rendered features
  • Repaint the façade in a traditional limewash coating system
  • Construction of a new free-standing mezzanine structure within the building envelope
  • Repair and refurbishment of the original timber windows and doors
  • Paint-stripping of the internals to showcase the original brickwork detailing
  • Re-roofing
  • Full replacement of all building services including power upgrade, air-conditioning installation, new water and drainage services and connections

All works were successfully completed under the close supervision of the heritage architect.
